Company profile

An automation team that specifies, installs and stands behind the system

DK IT AND AUTOMATION SERVICES is a Pune-based vehicle access control and security automation business. We supply automatic and manual boom barriers as manufacturers, suppliers, exporters, traders and dealers, and we deliver the survey, installation, integration and maintenance that turn equipment into a working entry.

Our work sits at the point where a physical gate meets a decision about who is allowed through it. That decision can be as simple as a guard pressing a button, or as involved as a long-range RFID reader identifying a registered vehicle, an access controller checking it against a register, and the barrier lifting before the driver has to slow down. We build both, and everything between.

Business focus

Our business focus

We concentrate on one field rather than spreading across unrelated trades. That focus is deliberate: boom barriers and access control fail in specific, repeatable ways — poor foundations, undersized duty ratings, readers mounted at the wrong height, safety devices treated as optional — and a team that sees those problems regularly is better placed to avoid them.

Boom barrier solutions

Automatic and manual barriers for entries of every size, with boom lengths and duty ratings chosen for the lane rather than for the invoice. Where a barrier already exists and is mechanically sound, we will say so and quote a repair or an upgrade instead of a replacement.

Automatic and manual systems

Automatic barriers suit gates where vehicles arrive faster than a person can respond, or where the entry is unmanned for part of the day. Manual barriers remain a sensible, low-maintenance answer for standby lanes, service gates and lightly used entries with a guard on duty. We offer both and recommend honestly.

Access control and security automation

Barriers are rarely the whole requirement. Card readers, long-range UHF readers, controllers, push buttons, safety beam sensors and loop detectors decide how the barrier behaves and what gets recorded. We specify these as one system so that credentials, control and safety work together instead of being bolted on later.

How we work

From requirement to long-term support

Four stages, each producing something you can check before the next begins. The full sequence is set out in our process.

Stage 01

How we understand a requirement

Every enquiry starts with questions rather than a quotation. How many vehicles use the entry in its busiest half hour? Is the gate manned at 2am? How wide is the lane once kerbs and drainage are accounted for? Are there pedestrians and two-wheelers in the same opening? Those answers change the specification far more than brand preference does.

Stage 02

Solution selection

Once the site is understood we propose a specific arrangement: barrier type, boom length, drive rating, control method, safety devices and any integration with equipment already installed. You get the reasoning as well as the price, so the decision is yours to check rather than ours to assert.

Stage 03

Installation support

Our engineers handle foundation and mounting, conduit and cable routing, terminations at the controller, reader positioning and commissioning. We cycle the barrier under realistic conditions, verify safety devices with real vehicles, and train whoever operates the gate before handover.

Stage 04

Maintenance and support

A barrier at a busy entry cycles thousands of times a month. Planned servicing — alignment and balance checks, lubrication, electrical terminations, sensor and reader verification — costs far less than the queue at your gate when a drive fails mid-cycle. We keep a service record per barrier so the next visit starts from what was found last time.

Export & trading

Export and trading

Alongside domestic supply and installation we act as exporters and traders for the equipment we know: boom barriers, long-range UHF readers, access controllers, RFID credentials, safety beam sensors and road blockers. Export orders are quoted against a requirement list and destination, with documentation and packing arranged per consignment.

Export orders sit alongside our domestic product and service range. Trading has a practical benefit for local customers too. Because we handle equipment beyond what we install ourselves, we can source spares and alternatives for installations we did not originally supply, which is often what makes a repair viable instead of a replacement.

Existing installations

Working with existing installations

A large share of our work is not new supply at all. It is a barrier installed years ago by somebody else that now fails intermittently, closes on vehicles, or cannot keep up with traffic that has doubled since it was fitted. That work begins with a paid inspection: we dismantle far enough to establish the condition of the drive, gearbox, controller and boom mountings, and we check spare availability before quoting anything.

The outcome is one of three recommendations, and we say which plainly. Repair, where the housing and mountings are sound. Upgrade — usually RFID, a faster drive or proper safety devices — where the mechanics will carry the added duty. Or replacement, where they will not, in which case you get the numbers rather than an assertion. The full sequence is set out in our six-stage process, and the reasoning behind these judgements in our technical guides.

Coverage

Pune and Maharashtra focus

Being based in Pune is a practical advantage rather than a marketing line: it is what makes a same-week survey or service visit realistic for sites across the city, Dattwadi, Chinchwad, Pimpri Chinchwad and Hinjewadi. We also take on project work elsewhere in Maharashtra and supply equipment for export.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly does DK IT AND AUTOMATION SERVICES do?
We supply, install, integrate and maintain vehicle access equipment: automatic and manual boom barriers, RFID boom barrier systems, parking barrier systems, boom gate systems and the access control and safety devices that go with them. We work as manufacturers, suppliers, exporters, traders and dealers, and we carry out the site work ourselves.
Do you only sell equipment, or do you install it too?
Both. Every supply can include survey, foundation and mounting, cabling, commissioning, operator training and an ongoing maintenance arrangement. We prefer to install what we supply because it keeps responsibility in one place when something needs attention.
How do you decide what to recommend?
From the site, not from a price list. We look at vehicles per hour at the busiest period, lane width as measured, whether the gate is manned and at what hours, who needs access, and how they should be identified. That determines automatic versus manual, boom length, duty rating and the control layer.
Which areas do you serve?
Pune and Maharashtra, including Dattwadi, Chinchwad, Pimpri Chinchwad and Hinjewadi. Export supply is also available.
